Readiness with evidence
KubeFit separates readiness (how your recent practice is going) from evidence confidence (whether enough varied evidence supports that assessment). Neither is a percentage chance of passing an exam.
Find it on My practice, inside each track's Reports, or in the CLI:
kubefit readiness cka
kubefit readiness # your remembered track
These commands are available in CLI v0.1.4 and later. Older CLIs can still upload reps, but cannot supply complete mock-session evidence. kubefit report includes the same assessment. The site sees synced evidence; the CLI sees local and previously synced evidence. Run kubefit sync to bring them together.
What counts
The current pack's domain weights and task headers define the practice objective map. Where a task has no explicit objective label, that scenario is one distinct practice unit. This is pack coverage, not an audited claim of complete official curriculum coverage. OPS is a workshop, not a certification exam.
Each objective uses recent independent successes in its mapped scenarios. Metrics are weighted by domain, with equal weighting where a pack supplies no exam weight:
- Independent coverage: the latest rep for a mapped scenario passed without hints or a solution, within the last 30 days. Multiple grades are allowed: independent debugging is a skill.
- Within target: that uninterrupted independent pass also finished within the task's target, taken from the current pack rather than a client-submitted target.
- Retained: an independent pass within target was repeated for that scenario at least 24 hours later, with both reps in the last 30 days.
Allowed documentation carries no penalty. Reading playbooks, opening hints and viewing solutions remain useful learning; they do not establish independent performance. The app cannot detect outside assistance. Repeated success at familiar tasks is not proof of performance on unfamiliar ones.
The four stages
- Establishing a baseline: fewer than three distinct recent drills, or fewer than two UTC training dates.
- Building consistency: a baseline exists, but coverage, pace, a weak domain or a recent failed drill needs work.
- Nearly ready: at least 80% weighted independent coverage and within-target coverage, at least 60% independent coverage in every represented domain, and no unresolved latest failure in a recent drill.
- Ready to attempt: all of the above, at least 60% weighted retention, and the mixed-mock benchmark below.
Evidence confidence is Limited until there are at least three training dates and half the pack's distinct drills with recent evidence. It becomes Moderate then, and Strong when all readiness benchmarks are met. This describes the amount of supporting practice evidence, not statistical certainty. Very small packs use their full available drill count instead of the three-drill minimum.
Dedicated exams
Two completed dedicated exams on different UTC dates within the last 14 days meet the timed-session benchmark when each scores at least 80/100 within 120 minutes. All 17 planned questions and their final checks must be present. Escaped, interrupted, paused or malformed records do not qualify. Scores are derived from checks, not a client-supplied aggregate.
Dedicated exams do not add drill reps, objective coverage or cold passes. Repeating the fixed form establishes practice consistency, not performance on unseen questions. Readiness still requires broad independent drill coverage, pace and retention. Historical drill-based mock evidence keeps its original variety requirements for compatibility.
The two-hour deadline is enforced by the new CLI. At expiry, work stops and the final report is generated. See mock exams for the complete rules. These are KubeFit training benchmarks, not official passing thresholds or pass probabilities.
Your next step
kubefit next launches the same next drill shown in readiness: repair a recent failure, cover an untried skill, refresh old evidence, remove assistance, improve pace, or demonstrate retention. Within the same gap, higher-weight domains come first. Repeating a successful drill before 24 hours have passed is deprioritized when another useful rep is available.
If only timed-session evidence remains, Caz's card offers the dedicated exam command. Use the separate exam report to identify what to practice next.
Your exam date influences Caz's workout planning, but cannot raise readiness. With time away, the assessment asks for fresh evidence rather than claiming you forgot everything.
